Edwin Ewart Lincoln Wallen, born in Belize City, Belize, served in 125 Squadron R.A.F. based at Church Fenton equipped with Mosquito night fighters. He survived the war and remained in the R.A.F. until 1946.
After leaving the R.A.F., Sgt. Wallen joined the UK G.P.O. working in Manchester and London, eventually rising to Telecommunications Superintendant based in Brighton, West Sussex. Sgt. Wallen served the R.A.F.A. for many years, and remained in touch with Clifton Pinks (also from Belize) who remained in the R.A.F. until his retirement at R.A.F. Brize Norton in the mid early 2000s.
In 1973, Sgt. Wallen returned to Belize as Comptroller for Belize Telecom, but remained in Belize only one year, returning to the UK in 1974 and rejoining British Telecommunications plc.
Due to retire in early 1985 Sgt. Wallen died suddenly in December 1984, in Lancing, West Sussex, where he is buried.
Sgt. Wallen was married twice and has two surviving sons, and two grandsons.
