Stirling R9199 of 7Sqn, Bomber Command, pilot FO L J Stewart took off from RAF Oakington, Cambs at 2119hrs on 8 April 1943 for bombing mission against Duisberg. The aircraft failed to return and was presumed shot down. Body never recovered. Name is commemorated at Runnymeade Memorial, Panel 131.
